Welcome to Harborne Primary School

Happy Pupils Succeed! 

This is the first part of our vision statement because we put children at the centre of everything we do, believing firmly that if children feel happy, safe, valued and supported then the sky is the limit for what they can learn and achieve. 
 
We are a happy, warm and friendly community school with pupils and families from a wide range of beliefs, cultures and backgrounds and we celebrate this diversity whenever we can. There are over 20 different languages spoken by the families belonging to our school! 

We work across two sites: our main site is at Station Road where we have three classes per year group from Reception to Year 6; our brand new annex, which opened in September 2019, is just under 1 mile away on Court Oak Road, where we have a Reception and Year 1 class there permanently and will eventually have one class per year group, making us a four form entry school by 2024. Our aim is to ensure that all of our pupils receive similar exciting and wide-ranging opportunities, irrespective of which site they are based at. We currently have older pupils visiting the annex regularly to ensure our annex pupils and staff are part of Harborne Primary School.
 
Harborne is also a high achieving school, with our results generally being higher than those in Birmingham and nationally. We are proud of our high standards of achievement and of the wide range of opportunities we offer our children – not just in academic subjects, but in the wider curriculum such as music, sport and art. We value every child and believe that we provide an education which encourages many core learning values - including creativity, independence, thinking and emotional intelligence. 
 
Children, staff, parents and governors are on the journey of education as partners in learning, and we value highly the amazing support we receive from our parents. It is vitally important to us that parents and families share our vision, and work in partnership with us for the benefit of the children.

…. develop confident, successful children with a natural love of learning, through an aspirational and inspirational curriculum where everybody is valued. 
 
We believe that a successful start to your child’s education will enable them to become life-long learners and responsible citizens in our fast-changing world. We help them to succeed at Harborne Primary but aim to foster in them a desire to continue to succeed long after they leave us.
