As you will all be aware, the NEU announced that their teachers will strike over pay in England and Wales on a number of days in February and March 2023. The remaining dates for this action in Birmingham, and at Harborne Primary School, are Wednesday 15^th and Thursday 16^th March 2023.

Following this announcement, I wanted to inform you that Harborne Primary School will be closed to pupils in the following year groups on Wednesday 15^th and Thursday 16^th March 2023 due to the absence of teaching staff:

• Reception
• Year 1
• Year 2
• Year 3
• Year 4
• Year 5

The school will, however, be open to all pupils in Year 6, who should come to school as normal on both days.

The strike is happening because of a national dispute between the unions and the government over pay and funding. Our school will always be committed to providing a safe and secure environment for our pupils and delivering a high quality education for all.

If your child is eligible for Free School Meals and you would like us to provide a packed lunch that can be collected from school between 12:00 and 12:30 on Wednesday and Thursday, please click here.   Please note this is different to the Universal Free School meals available to all Reception and KS1 children.
