Year 6 Kwik Cricket Finals: Tuesday 24 June
The boys played well this afternoon in the finals of the Year 6 tournament. After losing their first game against Hall Green, who went on to win the league, by only four runs, the team went on to secure a win against Ark Tindal: a brilliant one handed catch in the final over by Ben Montgomery deciding the issue. However, a second narrow defeat against Holy Child meant that the competition was over for the boys. Well done to all those who took part.
The girls played against Meadows and Hollywood Schools during the tournament on Tuesday afternoon. They were very unlucky to lose to Meadows - a ball that bowled the opposing batter to win the game being no balled for height, but came back strongly against Hollywood scoring 232 runs to win by 3. Well done to all the girls concerned!
Children from Years 3 and 4 had the opportunity to work alongside Nigat Sultana from Food Net on Tuesday afternoon. The learnt a lot about healthy eating and then had fun making a wrap using a range of vegetables and fish. This was the first session of five for this group. Further opportunities will be offered to parents of children in Years 3 and 4 next term.
