Enforced School Closure for Pupils on Monday 3rd November 2014

During half term work has been carried out in the school boiler room on low level asbestos found during our recent survey of the school. The work will not be able to be completed and properly certified until Monday 3rd November 2014. The asbestos work has been carried out by the local Authority under the guidance and supervision of the Health and Safety Executive [HSE]. The asbestos does not pose a threat to health but a problem has arisen due to its location in the boiler room. This means we will not be able to switch on the boilers in order to provide heating or hot water which is the issue.

We have been reliably informed that the work will be finalised and certified by the appropriate authorities on Monday so it is our intention to open school as normal to children on Tuesday 4th November.

We are very sorry for this unavoidable school closure and apologise for the inconvenience this has caused.
