Our History Leader is Mrs Gray.
History is part of our Creative Curriculum.
In history, the children begin to develop an awareness of the past and how it differs from the present. They learn about changes in their own lives and those of their family, as well as about people living long ago. Our school itself is a wonderful historical resource and research into it was the source of the winning entry in Birmingham's Centenary Celebrations. We have strong links with a number of past pupils who share their memories of school life with the children. Other sources of information include artefacts, photographs, books and ICT. As part of their history work the children visit places of interest such as the village of Blackwell, Aston Hall and Wroxeter.
As children progress through the school they enjoy taking part in theme days such as “Roman day” when they are able to come to school in costume and activities are planned to make history really seem to 'come alive' for the children.
