Uniform

We like the children to wear our smart and practical uniform as it helps to give them a sense of pride in our school. Our colours are burgundy and grey as follows:

        pinafore, skirt, trousers                   - grey

        shirt, blouse                                    - white

        polo shirts                                       - white,

sweatshirt, jumper, cardigan           - burgundy with school badge

        summer dress                                 - gingham/stripes in  red/white

sensible shoes                                - black, no trainers, boots or 'high' heels

socks or tights                                 - white, grey or black –plain design

Unbadged items (skirts, trousers etc) can be purchased at any shop. Clive Marks stock all of our badged uniform and P.E. kit. We are also registered with Tesco for their online badged uniform service. Please label all items with your child’s name, as one unmarked school jumper cannot be identified from another! Coats, hats, scarves and gloves are also easy to mislay so should all be named with your child’s full name.

P.E. Kit

In Reception P.E. lessons can be very short if the staff need to give a great deal of support to 30 children when dressing and undressing.

Please do try to send them in practical clothes that they can manage themselves. Shoes can be problematic and Velcro fastenings are much easier for younger pupils. Tights and belts are often difficult too but if they practice at home it really helps.

Helping your child to eventually tie shoelaces will be much appreciated by busy teachers faced with 30 pairs of shoes every P.E. lesson!

The following items will be needed for P.E.:

  •         white t–shirts, trimmed with house colours*

*Please wait to be told which colour your child needs!

  •         navy blue shorts
  •         slip–on pumps (not lace–ups for infants please)
  •         a named draw–string bag for P.E. kit (we do sell one in school colours)

Your child may need to cover their arms and legs for religious reasons; if this is the case, please speak to the phase leader as there are safety implications for gymnastics lessons.

For both PE lessons and general hygiene reasons, we recommend that long hair is tied back for school.
